The Thailand mission trip moves steadily closer. In a couple of months I, along with about twenty others, will be over the hills and far away, on another continent.
In preparation for this, I visited my folks for a long weekend, during which time most of those who are going on the mission met up for a chit-chat about the trip. Some have been before, some have not. I most certainly have not; the farthest east I've been is The Balearics when I was 13. So, not much experience to bring to the party then. Most of my questions were answered and we all went away with a tentative itinerary of the two-and-a-half weeks visit.
On Wednesday, I'll be spending my lunchtime being poked with needles. Not too happy about that but I guess it's better than ending up in a strange land with Typhoid or something similarly nasty. Other than that, most of the preparation is being done by the charity we're going to support and my dad, who's kindly paying my way.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing, churching, photographing and sleeping a ludicrous amount. I always sleep exceptionally well at The Barn House, due in part to it's remote location and being a spiritually peaceful place, given the amount of prayer that goes into it. Great to see the parentals again; they're both on good form and looking really well.
Here's a few of the 300 odd photos I took over the weekend. Most of them were rubbish, grr.
